ALNC is hosting a Zoom meeting for all with Megan as your Artist Demonstrator.

Creating your own account
To sign up for your own free account, visit zoom.us/signup and enter your email address. You will receive an email from Zoom (no-reply@zoom.us). In this email, click Activate Account.Â
Signing in to your Zoom account on the web
You can login to your Zoom account on the web at any time, at zoom.us/signin. Once you're logged in, use the panel on the left side to navigate the Zoom web portal.Â
Joining another user's meeting
There are many ways to join a meeting, but the easiest way is to click the join link that the meeting host provided. You can also click Join in your Zoom client and enter the meeting ID.Â

A day or so before the scheduled event, you will receive an invitation to the Zoom event from Vivian Hershfield. For security, please do not share the invitationâit is a private password.

When you join the event, you will come into a waiting room and will be let into the event individually by the Host. Please arrive on time; the room will be closed once the meeting begins. We appreciate your understanding.
President's Message
A Note from Vivian Hershfield
We have an exciting and diverse range of activities planned for the upcoming
season. We are currently working on winter demonstrations and a workshop for the spring. We anticipate doubling the number of activities by collaborating with the Suburban Art League through sharing workshops and exhibitions. Marilou Acuri and I are eagerly anticipating the additional opportunities to share our activities with you throughout the year.
Recently, I returned from a painting trip to Portugal. Our painting group stayed in
a picturesque hotel on the beach, with balconies overlooking the water. We
painted at various locations, and I have noticed a significant improvement in my
drawing and painting skills. Howard Rose and Marc JosloďŹ provided valuable
critiques during our trip. I thoroughly enjoy painting trips, as they allow me to
combine my passions for travel, painting, and spending time with friends who
share these interests.

I painted a cathedral in Lisbon, Portugal. Itâs not super accurate, but I think I got the feel of it. Iâm happy with how it turned out and Iâm okay not being perfect.
Fall Workshop with Megan K. Euell
Landscape in Oil
Megan will demonstrate her approach to painting landscapes. After her demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to paint with personal guidance from Megan. A supply list will be sent to all registered participants beforehand. Please bring your own lunch; coffee and a snack will be provided upon arrival.

The Art League of Nassau County cordially invites all their members and guests

There is little we can give back to those who give us so much. This exhibition celebrating our Volunteers is a small way for our art league to say, "Thank you," for their help over the year.
Volunteering is what makes The Art League of Long Island run.
Every little bit helps and is deeply appreciated. Maybe next year, you can hang your paintings in the Volunteers' Exhibition when you become a new volunteer.

The Art League of Nassau County artists Tim Savage, Liz Jorg Masi and Marie Sheehy-Walker will be exhibiting their paintings at the Barnes Gallery for the month of November. The exhibition contains the work of the artists participating in the Antonio Masi workshop in Umbria Italy organized through 1WorldArtTravel. Other artists exhibiting work are Antonio Masi, 1WorldArtTravelâs director Philip Levine and artist Susan Friend. All are invited to the Barnes gala reception Saturday,

Eileen Kelly; Coming Home
November 11 is Veterans' Day. To honor those who fight for us and have fought for us, fellow member and visual artist Eileen Kelly is hosting a solo show at Overton Gallery at Riverhead Free Library, 330 Court St., Riverhead, NY 11901, November 7 - 31, 2026. Her invited guest artist, retired veteran Robert Rouge's pen & ink illustrations will also be on view.

Travel and Art: The Perfect Combination

I wanted to travel to France alone, but how could I do it comfortably for an extended period of time on my own? The answer: join a plein air painting excursion--a marriage made in heaven. Not only did I paint in the south of France, but spent time in Aix-en-Provence (where I had gone to university in 1970) and five days in Paris solo. This was the start of a new life of art-travel for me.
In 2027 you are in luck! The Urban Sketchers Symposium is coming to North America: Toronto, practically driving distance from Long Island. This is an international gathering of urban sketchers from all over the world who will descend on Toronto to draw together August 4-7, 2027. A friendlier bunch of artists you won't find anywhere.
The three-day jaunt is packed with lectures, demonstrations, sketch walks, a vendor hall, and plenty (and I mean plenty) of artists of all levels to sketch with everywhere and anywhere. Go early or stay longer. There are always others around to meet.

If anyone is going to Toronto (thinking of going to Toronto), let the group know, let me know. It is always more fun when we go together.
Urban Sketchers is dedicated to on-location drawing. There are chapters in 599 cities worldwide. If you are interested in seeing what it is like, we have a very actived urban sketchers group in New York City. They meet every Wednesday and Saturday mornings, meeting places announced ahead of time. There is no fee and no pre-registration. Simply show up, find someone sketching, and join in.
