EXHIBITIONS

The ALNC Exhibition Committee organizes Spring and Fall Membership Shows in public spaces and offers receptions, both are open to the public. Members compete for cash prizes and display their work, which is for sale. Recent exhibitions spaces include Barnes Gallery in Garden City, Jericho Public Library, Manhasset Public Library, and Great Neck House. While most exhibitions are open to Full Members only, the Barnes Gallery shows are open to all members. 

 

 

 

Exhibition Space

The League offers members the opportunity to exhibit their work in a permanent exhibition space at the Clinton G. Martin Community Center, 1601 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, New York  11040.

To Register: complete the online Exhibition Entry Form and pay with credit card, or

make check out to The Art League of Nassau County and send Entry Form and payment to Virginia Edele, 179 Wardwell Road, Mineola, NY11501.

Howard Rose graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and Graduate studies at C.W. Post & the New School.

   Since 1974, he was head product designer for a major leatherwear company in Santa Monica, California. In 1980 he started his own graphics and product design company on Long Island.

 

   In 1989, Howard saw the paintings of a western painter named John Nieto. The amazing colors and large sized paintings of American Indians caught his eye and he hasn’t looked back since. Howard has studied with Artists, Alfred Chadbourn, Charles Sovek, Matt Smith, and Ovanes Berberian.

   He had is first art studio in Roslyn New York for 18 years where he taught and specialized in landscapes. The beaches of Long Island became his favorite subjects including the dunes, waves, and sky’s found in some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

   He teaches oil painting classes in multiple venues on Long Island, including the Art League of Long Island, National Art League and runs classes at his studio in Syosset, Long Island. In addition Howard runs many varied workshops including; Color Mixing, iPhone Photography, Logical Perspective and an intensive Calligraphy & Penmanship course.

   His articles and instruction techniques have been published in various magazines, including Artists, and American Artist Magazine. He runs annual workshops in Tuscany, Paris, Venice and many locations on the east coast. His plein air workshops are located in various areas over the east coast.

   He has been featured in several Long Island galleries including: The Artists Study in Southampton, Trapani Art Gallery in Manhasset as well as galleries in Connecticut and Naples, Florida.
